Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains from Bangalore. The trains will connect Bangalore–Belagavi, Nagpur–Pune, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar. The launch of this train will significantly cut down travel time, improve passenger experience and enable tourism, trade and economic development in the region.
Introduction:
In a major development towards transforming India’s rail infrastructure and improving intercity connectivity, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains from KSR Railway Station, Bangalore. The newly introduced routes will link Bangalore to Belagavi, Nagpur to Pune, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Amritsar.
The Prime Minister said that these trains would not only save travel time but also provide passengers with a top-class travel experience. He congratulated the residents of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and the entire nation for this achievement in rail connectivity.
Bangalore–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express:
- Route: KSR Bangalore ↔ Belagavi
- Beneficiary Districts: Bangalore, Tumakuru, Hassan, Chikmagalur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi
- Benefits:
- Reduced Travel Time: Better connectivity between Karnataka’s IT hub and the industrial belt of Belagavi.
- Enhanced Comfort: Equipped with advanced facilities for a premium passenger experience.
- Tourism Boost: Easier access to cultural, historical, and natural attractions across Karnataka.
This service is poised to reinforce the link between the technology-driven economy of Bangalore and the manufacturing and cultural heritage hub of Belagavi.
Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express:
- Route: Nagpur (Ajni) ↔ Pune
- Beneficiary Districts: Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Akola, Jalgaon, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune
- Benefits:
- Industrial Connection: Reinforces connectivity between two key industrial and educational centers of Maharashtra.
- Tourism & Employment: Better travel convenience that will enhance local tourism and job opportunities.
- Safety & Reliability: High-speed, state-of-the-art train ensures a comfortable and secure journey.
The Nagpur–Pune corridor is set to benefit students, professionals, and entrepreneurs by providing faster and more reliable travel.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar Vande Bharat Express:
- Route: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra ↔ Amritsar
- Beneficiary Districts: Reasi, Jammu, Pathankot, Jalandhar, Amritsar
- Benefits:
- Pilgrimage Convenience: Direct, comfortable access to two key religious sites—Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Dham and the Golden Temple.
- Tourism Boost: Expected to attract more devotees and tourists, benefiting local businesses and hospitality sectors.
- Economic Growth: Boosts regional trade and cultural exchange between Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.
This route showcases the “connection of faith,”connecting two of India’s prominent pilgrimage destinations.
