The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has awarded a contract to the Consortium of Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon and Siemens for the design, supply, and maintenance of the Signalling & Telecommunication system for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train. The contract worth Rs. 4,140 crore will improve safety, enhance operational efficiency and reduce travel time in the bullet train corridor.
Introduction:
In a significant development for India’s first bullet train project, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has awarded a crucial Signalling and Telecommunication (S&T) system contract to a joint venture of Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Private Limited and Siemens Limited, along with Siemens Mobility GmbH.
The order comes under the Package S-1 of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, the high-speed rail initiative using advanced technology from Japanese collaboration. The contract includes several works like designing, and maintenance of the systems.
Scope of the Contract:
- Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation
- Overall Integration, Testing, and Commissioning
- Comprehensive Maintenance of-
- Signalling and Train Control System
- Telecommunication System
- Operation Control Centre (OCC) System
The systems are crucial for the real-time communications and centre, automated train operations, and ensure seamless operations, it also aligns with the safety guidelines for the high speed rail.
