Mumbai Metro Line-5: KR Construction wins Rs. 52.33 crore contract for multi-modal integration

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has awarded a ₹52.33 crore contract to K R Construction for implementing Multi-Modal Integration (MMI) facilities at six metro stations along Mumbai Metro Line 5 Phase 1 (Balkum Naka to Dhamankar Naka). The project aims to enhance commuter convenience and infrastructure within 12 months.


The project will significantly improve commuter experience and accessibility through:

  • Footpath Enhancements: Widening and development of footpaths.
  • Road Works: Including stormwater drainage improvements.
  • Pick-Up/Drop-Off Bays: Dedicated areas for buses, autos, taxis, and private vehicles.
  • Cycle Infrastructure: Tracks and parking spaces for cyclists.
  • Junction Improvements: Geometric optimization, median upgrades, and better traffic management.
  • Urban Amenities: Street furniture, tree guards, kiosks, and landscaping.
  • Safety Measures: Signage, lane marking, and street lighting relocation.

Collaboration with Agencies:

The contractor will collaborate with multiple utility and civic agencies such as MCGM, BEST, RTO, Tata Power, MTNL, and others to ensure seamless execution of the project.

  • Awarded Value: Rs. 52,32,60,734.52
  • Contract Period: 12 months

The project will cover six key metro stations:

  • Balkum Station
  • Kasheli Station
  • Kalher Station
  • Purna Station
  • Anjur Phata Station
  • Dhamankar Naka Station
