Mumbai Metro Line 3: Track laying completed from Aarey to Cuffe Parade

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRC) has completed 100% track laying on both the up and down lines of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 corridor from Aarey to Cuffe Parade. This milestone signifies steady progress in commissioning the 33.5-km-long Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ metro corridor, set to transform Mumbai’s urban transit system.

Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, is a 33.5-km-long corridor designed to ease traffic congestion in Greater Mumbai. The project aims to enhance connectivity across Colaba, Bandra, and SEEPZ. As part of its phased implementation, progress on Phase 2 from BKC to Cuffe Parade includes:

  • Station and Tunnel Works: 99.1% completed
  • Overall Station Construction: 97.6% completed
  • Overall Systems Works: 58.7% completed
  • Mainline Track Works: 99.1% completed
  • OCS Works: 57.1% completed
