Kim River Bridge completion marks key milestone for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project

The construction of the Kim River bridge in Surat district has been completed for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. This marks the completion of the 14th river bridge out of 21 bridges that are planned to be built in Gujarat for the bullet train project. The 120-meter-long structure, featuring three 40-meter spans and four massive piers, enhances progress between Surat and Bharuch bullet train stations.


Another Milestone Achieved in Bullet Train Project:

The Kim River bridge construction was successfully completed on 15th March 2025 in Surat district of Gujarat. It marks a significant step forward in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor.

Key Specifications of the Bridge:

  • Total Length: 120 meters
  • Structure: 3 full-span girders, each measuring 40 meters
  • Pier Height: Ranges from 12 to 15 meters
  • Piers: Four circular piers with a diameter of 4 meters each
  • Location: Strategically situated between Surat and Bharuch Bullet Train stations, approximately 30 km from both.

Connectivity Enhancements in Gujarat:

This is the 14th river bridge to be completed out of the 21 planned river bridges in Gujarat for the bullet train project. The Kim River bridge joins a list of completed bridges including those over Par, Purna, Mindhola, Ambika, Auranga, Venganiya, Mohar, Dhadhar, Kolak, Vatrak, Kaveri, Kharera, and Meshwa rivers.

Additionally, river bridges over Tapi and Narmada rivers, also located between Surat and Bharuch, are currently under construction.
