Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE) has awarded a contract worth INR 554.46 crore to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL)-Rithwik Projects Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL) JV for the construction of nine stations on Corridor-4A of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). The scope includes civil, structural, architectural, and E&M works, with provisions for solar panel installations and multimodal integration.
The awarded contract includes the design and construction of:
- One Elevated Station (Marathahalli): This includes foundations, piers, pier caps, portal beams, girders, roof structures, entry/exit structures, staircases, foot overbridges (FOB), and provisions for solar panel installation.
- Eight At-Grade Stations: (Heelalige, Singena Agrahara, Huskur, Ambedkar Nagar, Carmelaram, Bellandur, Doddanakundi, Kaggadasapura). These will have similar structural elements, ensuring multimodal integration (MMI) with other transport networks.
- Architectural & E&M Works: Including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, façade, and finishing works for all stations.
- Solar Power Integration: Roof structures will be designed to accommodate solar panels for sustainable energy use.
- 205-Meter Platforms: Ensuring uniform station design across the project corridor.
Project Overview:
The Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) aims to enhance commuter connectivity with four dedicated corridors. The system will operate on a 1676mm broad gauge track with 25KV OHE traction power, achieving a design speed of 90 kmph and an operational speed of 80 kmph. The contract is set to be completed within 24 months, marking a crucial milestone in Bengaluru’s rail infrastructure development.
