Ltd. (JTRF), is establishing a first-of-its-kind forged railwheel and axle manufacturing facility in Haldiapada, Khordha, Odisha. This project marks a significant leap for India’s rail infrastructure manufacturing and positions Odisha as a new hub for high-tech railway engineering.
Strategic Investment and Production Capacity:
The project entails a Rs. 2,500 crore investment in phases and is designed to produce 1,00,000 forged wheelsets annually. Around 50% of the production is targeted for export, including to Slovakia’s Tatravagonka A.S. and other European rail infrastructure companies, positioning India as a key global supplier.
Government Support and Infrastructure Readiness:
The project’s success is strongly backed by the Government of Odisha under CM Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and Industries Minister Shri Sampada Chandra Swain. The land was allocated from IDCO’s land bank, with all statutory approvals secured. The plant location, just 30 km from the airport, enhances logistic connectivity.
