IRCON has successfully completed the electrification of the 56 km Thaiyat Hamira–Sanu railway section in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur Division. This marks a significant milestone under the Railway Board’s electrification Package 3, showcasing IRCON’s speed, efficiency, and commitment to India’s Mission 100% Electrification.
Introduction:
In a significant step, IRCON International Ltd. has reached a key milestone in India’s electrification mission by completing the Railway Electrification project from Thaiyat Hamira to Sanu. Spanning 56 route kilometers and 66 track kilometers, this section falls under the Jodhpur Division of the North Western Railway.
Successful Trial and Inspection:
The statutory inspection was conducted by the Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE), followed by a successful full-speed trial across the entire section, confirming operational readiness for electric train movement.
IRCON completes electric loco trial in a section under North East Frontier Railway:
- IRCON has achieved a major milestone under Mission 100% Electrification by conducting a successful electric loco trial at full sectional speed between Dibrugarh and New Tinsukia on March 31, 2025. This 42 km electrified route marks a significant leap toward eco-friendly and energy-efficient railway operations in Northeast India.
- This successful trial not only strengthens IRCON’s commitment to a greener railway network but also boosts the North East Frontier Railway’s capabilities in enhancing connectivity and operational speed. As Indian Railways progresses towards full electrification, such achievements play a vital role in reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainable transportation.
Part of a Larger Mission:
This project is part of Package 3 of the Railway Electrification initiative awarded to IRCON by the Railway Board. As part of this package, IRCON has electrified an impressive 386 route kilometers and 492 track kilometers to date.
Driving Efficiency and Sustainability:
With this achievement, IRCON reinforces its commitment to delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and contributes to the broader goal of sustainable, energy-efficient rail transportation in India.
Conclusion:
IRCON’s successful execution of this electrification project not only supports Indian Railways’ green mission but also strengthens its position as a trusted partner for national infrastructure goals. This milestone demonstrates IRCON’s engineering excellence and its pivotal role in transforming India’s railway network through electrification.
