DMRC awards maintenance contract for Pink line section to Group Engineer Service

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has awarded Group Engineer Service a significant maintenance contract worth Rs. 3.34 crore for Line-7 (Pink Line), spanning from Mayur Vihar Phase-1 to Shiv Vihar. The contract consists upkeep of viaducts, stations, RSS, depots, and staff quarters, ensuring safe and efficient metro operations over the next three years.

In a strategic step to accelerate the upkeep and operational reliability of the Delhi Metro’s Pink Line, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded a general maintenance contract to Group Engineer Service. This contract worth Rs. 3.34 crore, is aimed at improving the operational efficiency and safety of a major section of Line-7.

Contract Details:

The recently awarded contract pertains to the maintenance of infrastructure on the stretch between Mayur Vihar Phase-1 and Shiv Vihar Metro Station, a critical corridor on the Pink Line. The work under Contract OCM-1824 encompasses a wide range of infrastructure assets including-

  • Elevated viaducts
  • Receiving Substations (RSS)
  • Ancillary buildings and station premises
  • Foot Over Bridges (FOB)
  • Vinod Nagar Depot
  • Vinod Nagar Staff Quarters

Scope and Duration:

The scope of the project is categorized as a General Maintenance Contract and will cover essential maintenance tasks to ensure structural integrity, cleanliness, functionality of systems, and aesthetic upkeep across the mentioned metro assets. The contract is set to be executed over a three-year period, providing long-term consistency in maintenance standards.

Such contracts are essential in sustaining the efficiency of metro operations, particularly in high-footfall and high-frequency corridors like the Pink Line. Stretching across East Delhi and North-East Delhi, this section of the Pink Line serves thousands of commuters daily, connecting vital interchange points with other metro lines.
