DFCCIL has inaugurated the New Prithla Yard Expansion and twin rail links connecting Palwal and HORC. The project, completed ahead of schedule, poised to accelerate connectivity, decongestion, and sustainable growth in the logistics sector, aligning with the nation’s ambitious infrastructure vision.

Operational Rollout & New Rail Links:
Starting 23rd June 2025, the expanded New Prithla Yard has become fully operational for dedicated freight handling, supporting increased throughput and faster movement of goods. Two new rail links were launched-
- New Prithla (DFCCIL) – Palwal (Indian Railways)
- Prithla – HORC (Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor)
These links majorly strengthen the regional and national freight movement network, enabling greater integration between dedicated freight corridors, national rail lines, and state-level rail projects.
Strategic Importance:
- Decongesting existing railway lines
- Promoting multi-modal logistics
- Reducing freight transit time and costs
- Advancing Make-in-India and export competitiveness
The integration of DFCCIL’s infrastructure with Indian Railways and HORC is a key enabler for last-mile freight connectivity and industrial corridor growth in Haryana and beyond.
Conclusion:
The New Prithla Yard Expansion and its dual rail link inauguration represent a strategic move towards India’s freight mobility framework. DFCCIL’s commitment to timely delivery, sustainable practices, and integrated connectivity reinforces the government’s goal of a robust, efficient, and future-ready logistics network across the country.
