The unit produced 18 WAG-9HC electric locomotives in May 2025, the highest monthly output ever recorded at the unit. It has beaten itself in the manufacturing race, the highest output being 16 locomotives in a month that was achieved in November 2024.

The manufacturing of the 18th locomotive marks the 42575th WAG-9HC in the total production of locomotives. This record-breaking achievement is not just a manufacturing success, but also a commitment to the enhanced operational capacity and teamwork at the Dankuni unit. Chittaranjan Locomotive Works is celebrating 75 glorious years of its achievements and Indian Railways commemorates 100 years of electric traction, the best moment to achieve a crucial manufacturing record. Year-on-Year Progress:
The Dankuni facility had produced a total of 156 electric locomotives in the previous financial year (2024-25). The unit has been able to achieve this result by continuous efforts, the use of cutting-edge technology and the coordination between the team.
