Interiors: The seats on trains are subject to high wear because they are in daily use by numerous passengers. Over time, this may lead to damage, signs of wear and an overall loss of quality. That is why the seats must be regularly inspected, maintained and possibly replaced. The fastening plays a decisive role in maintaining seats on trains. Robust and reliable fastening not only ensures the passengers’ comfort and safety but also facilitates the maintenance and replacement of seats. With effective fastening, the seats can be reliably and securely held in position and even withstand vibration and jolts during the train ride.
Our solution: SNAPLOC® plug-in connections
The SNAPLOC® two-piece fastening system consists of a ball stud and a coupling for quick installation and is based on the principle of a simple snap or plug-in connection. Our SNAPLOC® system is invisible on the surface so that the intended appealing design can be realized without any problems. Apart from that, the seats can be installed and removed fast and easily.
Advantages:
- Freedom of Design: Absolutely inconspicuous. SNAPLOC® connections can be integrated into the design of the respective components.
- Fast installation and removal: A simple principle for complex requirements: snap on to join and pull off to remove.
- Small number of parts: Simple and cost-effective. Consisting of only two pieces – the ball stud and the coupling – SNAPLOC® simplifies production processes.
- Bodywork: In railway traffic, the intensive loads present a considerable challenge to screw joints. Due to vibration and shear forces, there is a risk of loosening screw joints. To avoid this, particularly effective locking elements are needed which prevent the spontaneous loosening of joints and ensure maximum safety.
Our thread inserts with screw loss protection protect screw joints even under high dynamic load. Due to the resilient frictional locking of the HELICOIL® Screwlock, the prevailing torques are similar to the specifications in ISO 2320. Such prevailing torques comply with the requirements of technical delivery conditions stated in international standards.
Advantages:
- Strength: Thanks to the elastic properties, the HELICOIL® thread insert can evenly distribute load and stress. The result is a higher-quality screw joint compared to a screw joint without HELICOIL®.
- Wear resistance: HELICOIL® thread inserts are abrasion resistant. The high surface quality of the rolled nut thread made of austenitic chrome-nickel steel ensures a high-strength thread. This thread also has a constant and extremely low thread friction torque.
- Durability: No self-loosening. The polygonal turn of the HELICOIL® Screwlock results in a high friction grip and thus provides for screw loss protection. Additional locking of the joint with split pins, wires or washers is not required.
