Oriental Foundry bags Rs. 60.87 crore order from Indian Railways for constant side bearers for BG bogie wagons

Oriental Foundry Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Oriental Rail Infrastructure Ltd., has bagged a significant order worth Rs. 60.87 crore from Indian Railways. The scope of the work involves manufacturing and supplying 1,05,000 Constant Side Bearers (CCSB) for BG Bogie Wagons. The work is scheduled to be completed within 18 months, and will boost India’s rolling stock capacity.


Introduction:

Indian Railways has awarded a Rs. 60.87 crore contract to Oriental Foundry Private Limited for the manufacturing and supply of the 1,05,000 Constant Side Bearers. Oriental Foundry as it is the wholly owned Subsidiary of Oriental Rail Infrastructure Limited, so the contract is the proof of the Indian Railways trust in the company for its production capabilities. The Constant Side Bearers (CCSB) for Broad Gauge (BG) Bogie Wagons are an instrumental component for safe and efficient railway operations.

The completion period for this work has been expected to be 18 months from the date of the purchase order.
