In a significant boost to urban mobility, Shri Braj Mohan Agrawal, Member (Traction and Rolling Stock), MTRS, Railway Board, dedicated two new Dalian Rakes – MR 508 and MR 510 – to passenger service at the Noapara Carshed. These rakes have been specially designed with wider doors to ease entry and exit, particularly during peak hours, ensuring smoother passenger flow.
Modern Rakes Dedicated to the City:
Kolkata Metro has taken another step toward improving commuter comfort and safety with the dedication of two new Dalian rakes (MR 508 and MR 510) at Noapara Carshed. Featuring wider doors, advanced safety measures, and passenger-friendly interiors, these rakes promise a smoother and more inclusive travel experience for the city’s metro users.
The rakes come with several upgraded features aimed at enhancing commuter experience:
- Jerk-free rides with advanced suspension systems
- CCTV cameras inside coaches for improved security
- Wider modular vestibules for easy movement between coaches
- Increased seating, with special provisions for senior citizens and differently-abled passengers
- Wheelchair parking spaces and door-side handrails for accessibility
Aesthetically designed interiors, brighter multilingual display boards, improved air diffusers, and high-capacity air conditioning systems add to passenger comfort. Sleek alarm devices with outside indication lamps also contribute to safer journeys.
Inspections and New Facilities:
During his visit, Shri Agrawal inspected the Blue Line stretch between Jatin Das Park and Noapara by metro. At Noapara, he reviewed ongoing developmental works and inaugurated an Advanced Chemistry Cell Battery Unit.
He also inspected the Yellow Line stretch from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar along with senior officials. At the station, he was briefed about upcoming passenger amenities designed to improve convenience and accessibility for future commuters.
