Siemens wins Rs. 773 crore orders for CBTC and Telecommunication systems for Nagpur Metro Phase-2

Siemens Limited has won dual orders worth approximately Rs. 773 crore from MAHA-METRO for cutting-edge CBTC signaling and telecommunication systems for Nagpur Metro Phase-2. The project covers 43.8 km with 32 stations and aims to reduce train delays, improve safety and commuter’s experience. The contract is scheduled to be completed within 42-months.


Introduction:

Siemens Limited, a prominent leader in the infrastructure and mobility sector, has received two key contracts from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MAHA-METRO) for Nagpur Metro Phase-2. The contracts worth around Rs. 773 crore will elevate Siemens’ position in the urban mobility solutions sectors as it shows the trust of the client towards the company.

The order consists of design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling systems and advanced telecommunication technologies. The installation of the systems will significantly improve operational efficiency of the Nagpur metro.
